The initiative represents a collaborative effort to enhance Download’s environmental impact with dedicated sustainability initiatives across the site. The Green Team is on-site to engage with festival goers and offering incentives to proactive participants and more.

Music is built on community, and there is no more passionate community than the Download festival goers. It is our responsibility to ensure the party continues for future generations. Our goal is to create a cleaner environment, and together we can make a positive impact.

THE GREEN TEAM

The Green Team at Download is all about keeping the site clean and the planet happy.

They engage with festivalgoers, collect data on environmental behaviours, and help spread the message: Rock Hard, Leave No Trace.

CAMPSITE


A dedicated Campsite for festival-goers who are committed to a cleaner, greener festival.

The team will be on hand with information, encouragement and, importantly, rewards for those who actively engage with the campaign objectives.

COMMITMENT


The Green Team commits to encourage attendees to take all their belongings home and minimise their environmental impact.

We encourage everyone attending Download to…

  • JOIN US: Keep your camp clean and take your tent home
  • ONLY BRING WHAT YOU NEED: Minimise what you bring and utilise onsite stores for essentials.
  • CONSIDER YOUR TRAVEL: Opt for public transport whenever possible.
  • RECYCLING POINTS: Recycle materials at the recycling points throughout the campsites


COMMUNICATION

We aim to educate around the impact of negative actions such as littering and abandoning tents.

Shining a light on the myth that all abandoned tents and gear get donated to charity when, in fact, it contributes to waste and pollution.
